Mar 9 2007
On March 24, 2007, P.O.V./AmDoc will present an In the Classroom session at the second annual Celebration of Teaching and Learning at Pier 94 in New York City. Dubbed by many as the "World's Fair for Educators," the Celebration is presented by Thirteen/WNET and WLIW21, the public television stations of the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut tri-state area. This year's event will focus on Science and Global Awareness to recognize the 50th anniversary of the historic launch of Sputnik as well as present-day globalization and its effects on families and communities. Celebration will offer workshops that model effective integration of science and global-issue awareness in teaching, and learning, and provide educators with concrete examples to bring to the classroom.
