A Night at the Garden

Join the Milwaukee Public Library East Branch for a free screening and discussion of A Night at the Garden in honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day, or Yom Hashoah, an annual commemoration of the lives and heroism of people who perished in the Holocaust between 1933 and 1945. After the screening, a Wisconsin resident and survivor of the Holocaust will tell their story followed by a Q&A. A Night at the Garden follows a 1939 pro-Nazi rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City that was attended by 20,000 people. The film uses striking archival fragments recorded that night to transport modern audiences into this gathering and shine a light on the disturbing fallibility of the mostly American atendees.
