American Documentary’s Between Earth & Sky Among the Year’s Stand Outs in 96th Academy Awards® Documentary Shortlist

Brooklyn, N.Y. – December 22, 2023 – American Documentary celebrates the news of POV Shorts’ Between Earth & Sky being shortlisted in the 96th Academy Awards'® Documentary Short Film category. The announcement was made December 21, 2023 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) and follows a season marked by industry and media recognition for the organization. The film, directed by Andrew Nadkarni and produced by Nadkarni, Swetha Regunathan and Katie Schiller
is available for broadcast and streaming as part of POV Shorts landmark 6th season.

Nominations voting begins at 9 a.m. PT, Thursday, January 11, 2024, and concludes at 5 p.m. PT, Tuesday, January 16, 2024. The nominations for the 96th Academy Awards will be announced on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024, while the Oscars ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be televised live on ABC and in more than 200 territories worldwide.
